Hello!

So what is the point of Learning My ATGC’s? This is a blog written by genetic counseling students, for those interested in and applying to training programs, other students, and anyone else interested in the field of genetic counseling. We are students at Sarah Lawrence College (SLC) in New York, so much of what we write is specific to our training program, but we’re sure can be helpful for those at other programs.

Some of the topics you can expect include:

  • Tips on the grad school application process

  • How to survive graduate school

  • An inside perspective on the life of an SLC genetic counseling student

  • A look at some unique clinical experiences in the NYC area and internationally

  • Specialization options in genetic counseling

  • General information on genetic counseling and clinical genetics

Given that we are now in the middle of interview season, many of our first posts will focus on the application and interview process.

If there is anything that you would really love to see on here, drop us an email at learning.my.atgcs@gmail.com. All feedback is appreciated.

Our first content post should be up shortly, so check back soon!
